Thoughts over Ch. 1

I thought it was quite strange that the main character could not put into words what his experiences were like when he went off to war. Sometimes writers get what they call 'Writer's block', and they have to take some time to explore other ideas other than what they're writing about. This character though didn't have that problem. His main problem was trying to decipher what was going on in his head and at the same time try to record the valuable information on paper.

  1. Chapter one now makes so much more sense! I never thought of Vonnegut as deciphering the book in the beginning. It makes sense because he needed his good friend O'Hare to speak with him which makes up for this "Writer's block"
